Tyan Irina Tues 56 2 pictures

A good photographer shows in his work is something new, or opens up for us the usual things in a new light. Looking at the photos we experience different emotions and feelings.

When I look at the picture "Playing in street sprinkler" I feel nostalgia, I remember my childhood. Photo is pleasant, warm memories. She is very bright and although the picture in black and white, it seems that it is possible to feel the atmosphere of the day. The street is very wide, very warm day and the summer mood. The central figure in this picture is a sprinkler. It is located in the center and immediately catches the eye. In this picture there is nothing superfluous or missing, all is harmonious and warm emotions.

Looking at the second picture, I have a kind of sadness. Color darker than the picture on the ground. Children very much, and a feeling that they do not have enough space and freedom. It seems that this is a very poor area, and the children do not have enough space. Despite the fact that they play baseball, many of them are as viewers. Maybe because of the narrow space creates an uncomfortable feeling, even a certain confusion of colors.

Comparing the two pictures, one can say that from the first- remains pleasant nostalgia, from second- little confusion. In the first photo the children look happy, carefree. And represent a happy childhood. In the second case, probably some pity and sadness from the fact that children spend a childhood, not to express their emotions.

  1. I felt a similar reaction looking at the two photos on page 146. The essay was mainly focused on the contrast of the two pictures, but didn't have much comparison and there weren't that many technical comparisons like talking about the lighting. It would be better if you include more comparisons and technical terms. Good Job!

  2. I found your essay to be very straightforward. Maybe you could use a little bit more details? Overall, though, it was an enjoyable read :) Good work!

  3. I completely agree with you in your essay. It would've been even more enjoyable if it was a bit longer. So perhaps you could elaborate on the details for the finals.
    Good luck!
